The House with the Well – Acrylic Painting Print

Picture the kind of yard you wish you’d grown up playing in: a big shade tree, a winding path, and an old stone well waiting at the end of it. That’s the little world in this painting.

A huge old tree fills most of the scene, its trunk thick and rooted deep, with branches that droop down in long strands of green and gold, almost like a willow. A pale green path curls out from the bottom corner, loops around the base of the tree, and leads off toward the house. Peeking out from behind the branches on the left, you can just make out the soft blue walls of the house and a teal door.

Over on the right, a wishing well with a wooden barrel base and a little peaked roof sits on a grassy rise. Behind it, a buttery yellow sun hangs low over the hill in a bright blue sky. Golden shrubs and tiny pink and white wildflowers are tucked into the grass all around, so there’s always something small to find.

The paint is laid on in quick, textured strokes, and the canvas weave shows through, especially in the leaves and grass. It feels handmade and a little storybook, and that texture carries over into the print.

It’s a warm, cozy piece for a kitchen, entryway, kids’ room, or farmhouse-style space. The greens, golds, and sky blue go well with natural wood, cream walls, and vintage or cottage decor. It also makes a sweet housewarming gift.

Choosing a size

• 5×7: a small piece for a shelf, desk, or windowsill, or a gift tucked in with a card. The edges are trimmed slightly to fit this shape.
• 8×10: shows the full composition and fits a standard 8×10 frame, or an 11×14 frame with a mat.
• 16×20: big enough to hang on its own over a table, bench, or entry console. Fits a standard 16×20 frame.

Caring for your print
